I learned that we use co-constructive
tools to work cooperatively to construct a shared meaning and knowledge. In a
co-constructive community, the learners develop a sense of identity and become
capable to construct knowledge of their own. I found this tool is very
important for learners and teachers as its help learners to expand knowledge
and understanding through construction of shared meaning among learners, teachers
and adult. The examples of co-constructive tools are; Google docs, electronic
white board, Blogs and wikis, discussion forum on portal.
I found integration of
co-constructive tools in teaching and learning is essential; where its provide
a platform to co-edit, communicate database , text and graphic , enhance collaborative
learning environment , high level cognitive process explanation, problem ,
active and international learning, identifying. This opportunity will groom a
learner to become successful and innovative in a future. Not only does
co-construction among learners and teachers assist them in growing many areas,
but it also teaches students how to form relationship with teachers and peers.
Moreover, the learners will be able to explore and share their views in term of
learning.
We can integrate
co-constructive tool in our lesson by giving students with the assignment like
we did in ICT module; developing ICT integrated lesson plan in a Google doc. I
found that it’s a creative way of learning in which its provide active
interaction among the members and immediate feedback from tutors and peers. If
we use Google doc in our teaching and learning, it will be helpful as they will
able to generate new knowledge from the discussion, can edit their friends work
on spot and make it productive one. and it will help in co-construction of
knowledge and meaning.
From the Google doc
assignment on developing ICT integrated lesson plan, I learned how to integrate
ICT in lesson, how to plan lesson effectively, and overall development of lesson
collaboratively with my group members. It also develop a sense of cooperation
and individual responsibility to take active part in learning. In addition, I
learned learns certain features of Google doc such as chat forum, comment
forum, how to attach files and pictures, and uploading assignment. I found Google doc is useful as its provide us to edit, comment, and learn collaboratively.
It was fun using Google doc as a student teacher and I hope students will also enjoy learning when teachers integrated Google doc learning into his or her lesson as I did. It will also encourage students to be extrovert as it will develop communication skills though interaction with other. I found learning through co-constructive tool is engaging and effective where students co-construct meaning and knowledge collaboratively. This also another way to actively engage students in learning with their peers and teacher. The learning through co-construction between peers and with teacher is effective teaching and learning pedagogy that we should adopt and implement in the classroom teaching. Therefore, I urge all the teacher to use co-constructive tool in their lesson to make students actively engage in learning through co-construction of knowledge and understanding by their own or support from teachers and adult.
