How Teachers use ICT as a Communicative tool in Teaching and Learning

Form different communicative tools, I learned how to use a blog to enhance our communication skills as students. A blog is an online journal or information platform where writers write their views, stories, lessons, and so on. When such an opportunity is given to the students, they gain many benefits; they are motivated in reading and writing, encourage the use of technology to enhance learning, promote communicative skills, autonomous learning, and become a good writer.

I created a blog where I reflect and write what I have learned in the module (ICT in Teaching and Learning). This provides me a greater opportunity to learn and keep track of my own learning by reflecting on what I learned and in which areas I need to focus more to be an effective user of ICT in teaching and learning. Prior to this session, I just heard this is a platform where writers write and post their views and events. And I don’t know to create and use features of the blog. As we proceed with this topic discussion, I know how to create a blog using email id and uses of features that are available in this forum. It also encourages me to use it as a medium for communication in teaching and learning when I become a teacher in the future. I feel that it is an effective method that we as a teacher should use to keep the track of student’s learning and at the same time we are encouraging them to become a good writer.

Through blogging under 5 ICT tools, I got more knowledge on ICT tools and it comprehend better as I need to reflect and write regularly. Its also gave me a platform to improve my learning as well as writing skills. The comments given by readers supplement in my learning and at the same time it encourage me to keep on writing. I found this is the one method to keep track of our learning as well as to build interactive learning among the students and with teachers.

Here is simple way to start blog on blogger.com which I used while creating my blog as 'Gusto in Teaching and Learning ICT'.

Following pictures shows how we used communicative tool in teaching and learning in three different modules during Covid-19 Pandemic;

With reference to the above forms of learning, I found uses of communicative tools are productive for teaching and learning as even shy students can also take active participation in WeChat, live chat, and vle discussion. In the ways, they learn communicative skills such as how to convey their messages, ways of communicating and putting their thought into well-framed sentences to impart the message. In addition, we got exposer to different teaching and learning styles such as through Google hangout, skypes, vle, and other tools of communication,  not only focusing on traditional ways. It serves  a great purpose in teaching and learning even in such pandemic. Therefore, we as teachers should encourage to integrate communicative tools as a medium in teaching and learning to inculcate communication skills in the students.
